Combining the Gospel with Sports

Ministry Through Recreation

Our Recreation Ministry provides recreational and athletic outlets for people of all ages.

These opportunities promote good physical health while emphasizing the importance of spiritual health. Each program has a unique way of connecting with participants and making the Gospel of Jesus Christ available.

Our recreation ministry is organized into three areas to accomplish our mission to worship and grow closer to God through activity.

  • Weekly activities
  • Seasonal leagues
  • Summer sports camps

Weekly Activities

Every Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (summer hours will be 6:30-9 p.m.) we minister to our community through dodgeball. Ages 5 and up can play together with a great attitude and missional mindset. Warm up starts at 6 p.m. and walk-ins are encouraged!

Seasonal Leagues

Upward Basketball

Upward Basketball is a Christian basketball league for 1st-8th grade children. The goal is to encourage not only your child’s basketball skills but to also increase their knowledge of the Bible. All participants will need to complete an evaluation that happens at Wedgwood’s gym.  If you have any questions or concerns, e-mail our Recreation Associate Patrick Lively @

Upward Soccer

Wedgwood will not be participating in Upward soccer for the 2019 season.

Summer Sports Camps

Currently our sports camps are partnered with our Sports & Fine Arts Camp.
