WedgKids Weekend Update

Hello Parents & Leaders!

I hope you have had a wonderful week with many blessings from God. My mom used to sing “Count your Blessings” to me when I was younger. It annoyed me then, but now I remember that song and sometimes sing it to my kids. I’m sharing 2 specific parts of that song with you today. The first part is in the chorus when it says, “Count your many blessings, see what God has done.” I believe that is something that you have to stop, think about it, and then name them. That task is what we are doing this week in WedgKids. We are remembering and celebrating the past 5 weeks of God’s blessings in our lives. The 2nd part of the song that I want to point out is when it says, “So, amid the conflict, whether great or small, Do not be discouraged, God is over all; Count your many blessings, angels will attend, Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.”

This 4th stanza seems very fitting in our current society. “Amid the conflict, whether great or small, do not be discouraged, God is over all!” Count your blessings this weekend with your family!

Here is this week’s Family Devotional that could help with counting your blessings as a family.

Neighborhood Fest

October 31st, Wedgwood Park, 3:30 – 6:00 p.m.

We will also be hosting a Neighborhood Quest from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at 4 different homes around the Wedgwood Neighborhood. We will be passing out a map at the park experience that will guide your family to 4 different Wedgwood member’s homes that will be hosting engaging and active activities. Some will even be serving free food. All will be passing out candy and connecting with trick or treaters. Plan to join along with the Neighborhood Fest and the Neighborhood Quest. More details to come soon!

Upward Registration

Evaluations will begin in November. Register today to let us know your child desires to play. There are discounts for multiple family members and there are discounts if your family invites someone to play that does not attend another local church. We desire to use the Upward Basketball Ministry to reach unchurched families. Let Patrick or myself know if you are considering participating as a player or a coach. Here is the registration link

Pastor Dale’s Application Questions:

Take a moment to check your spiritual bank account? How does it look?
Think back to a time in which you were faced with a decision to potentially compromise your Christian faith to some degree. How did you respond? Is there an area in which you sense God calling you to take a stand for your faith in Christ?
What is something in your life that is causing fear and anxiety? How do the truths contained in Revelation 2:8-11 help you fight those fears?
