Hey Parents & Volunteers,
A key phrase that I have said and heard lately is, “I just wish I knew what to do.”
Most of us like knowing what we are doing and when we are doing it. Our world/nation is not able to do that right now. I wonder if God is trying to teach us something. Have you been seeking the Lord for what He is saying to you?
Pastor Dale is calling Wedgwood to pray on Sunday instead of engaging in the sermon and missional community lesson. When we don’t know what to do or how to do it, we should first turn to the One who does. Sunday morning will be a season of prayer throughout the worship time whether you participate online or in person. There are two options for Sunday if you are worshiping at home. The first one is listen and pray along with those on campus. The second is to mute the online feed and pray with your family using your own prayer strategy. There will be online prompts of things to pray for and different people praying at different times.
The past 2 Wednesdays I have planned outdoor activities for our WedgKids to participate with in the North Parking lot. I have set up seating that is social distanced for the parents to sit at. We have stayed outside the entire time. It is my understanding that being outside and doing recreational activities has a very low chance of spreading the virus. The kids have done a good job of spacing out and running around the parking lot. This being said, I know many of you are still nervous about participating in any activities like this. That is understandable to me. My kids are just simply tired of being in our home all day every day since March 15th. My goal is to provide an outlet for those that want it to have something to do once a week that is fun, safe, and relationally connecting for them. This coming Wednesday, July 22, is the last one I plan on doing for July. If you have an idea of something that you would join us for, please send it to me. Either text or email.
Focus Week 2:
July 27th, 28th, & 29th, I am planning to have a series of videos that will be like Sports & Fine Arts Camp. It will be called Focus 2. Focus 2’s videos will involve a daily teaching time, new songs and dance moves, a Biblical challenges, a daily activity challenge, and a daily memory verse. This time the videos will give challenges that may take more than a day to accomplish. The goal behind this is to give your family content to engage in, but also challenges that will challenge you to keep working on them. This video series will be a lot more biblically challenging because kids have not been able to learn at church, and many families have desired Biblical content from the church. The videos will be premiered on Wedgwood’s YouTube channel each day at 10 a.m. but there will not be a Zoom time following.
Have a blessed weekend! Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.
