Weddings at Wedgwood

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. We at Wedgwood Baptist Church rejoice with you in your plans to celebrate your marriage. The wedding ceremony is one of the most sacred moments in the life of any couple. It is the desire of the staff and the church family to make every wedding ceremony a beautiful and worshipful event. To that end, we extend to each wedding party every possible courtesy.
Further, it is a ceremony in which two people ask the blessings of God upon them as they begin their lives together. While we will be happy to provide pre-marital counseling for anyone, we will not perform the wedding ceremony for couples where one is a born-again Christian and the other is not. II Corinthians 6:14 clearly commands, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.” Christians and non-Christians have diametrically opposed differences at the deepest levels of their being which will soon erupt under the strain of married life.
Nor will we perform the wedding ceremony of two unbelievers. The blessings of God and His church are reserved for those who call Christ “Savior and Lord.” A church wedding should bear testimony of that fact.
The procedures and policies found on this page have been thoughtfully adopted to assist in the planning of weddings that are to take place in our facilities. In accepting the use of the facilities of the church, rules regarding their use are also accepted.
